Want to improve search engine visibility? Catalyst can help
You can have the most informative and beautiful website in the world, but it’s not very useful if no one can find it when they search on Google. The team at Catalyst Healthcare Marketing has been helping practices improve search engine visibility for over a decade. Now we’re sharing some of our tips and tricks that help websites rank on page one of Google.
The basics of how to improve search engine visibility
When a new practice comes to us, they have the same request. They want to rank higher in the search results and get more new patients. Building an SEO-friendly website doesn’t happen overnight, but we take several steps to improve search engine visibility as soon as possible.
- Optimizing for keywords. When you hear the term SEO, it stands for search engine optimization. Writing content that includes the keywords your patients are searching for is one of the keys to writing effective SEO content. However, you can’t just stuff keywords anywhere on the page. These words need to appear in a specific location and a specific number of times on each page. It’s an art and a science.
- Organizing the page into sections. Have you ever read a webpage that seemed to go on and on in an endless block of text? If you’re like most people, you probably didn’t finish reading that page. To keep your website visitors on your website and reading your content, it needs to be organized properly. This includes using headers and bullet points to break up the text.
- Remembering metadata. Many people forget about filling in this information because it’s not in the body of the webpage. Forgetting to do so is a missed opportunity though. This metadata is what people see in the list of Google search results. Not only is it another chance to share your marketing message, it’s also another place to insert those valuable keywords.
- Writing for the web. Everything we’ve mentioned above is part of writing for the web. However, there’s more to it than that. For the best rankings on Google, you want to create content that’s easy to read. This means that the webpage shouldn’t be written at too high of a grade level and it shouldn’t include passive voice. What’s passive voice? It’s the difference between saying “it was transferred” (passive) and “he transferred” (active).
