GMB Listings Linking To PPC Ads: What You Need To Know

What you need to know about GMB listings linking to PPC ads

What you need to know about GMB listings linking to PPC adsHave you heard the news about GMB listings linking to PPC ads? Google recently sent out emails letting people know that their Google My Business, or GMB, listings will soon automatically link to their Google ads. If you received one of these emails, you might be wondering what this means for you and your practice. Read on as the Catalyst team explains what you need to know.

The facts about GMB listings linking to PPC ads

You might be wondering why Google decided to make this change. It turns out that its goal is to help both businesses (including medical practices like yours) and people who are searching for products and services.

When your GMB listings are linked to Google ads, your practice can show location extensions with your ads. Why is this important though? Location extensions are a great way to help potential patients find information about your clinic locations directly from your Google ads. Anything that makes it easier for people to find and contact you increases the likelihood of converting someone surfing the web into a patient.

Google seems to be making this change on a rolling basis, as several of our clients have received emails listing different dates for the change. However, it appears Google will be making this change for most people during the month of November.

What if you don’t want GMB listings linking to PPC ads? Do you have any options? The answer is yes. The owner of your Google My Business account can decline to link to your Google Ads account for PPC ads. You can also manually link to a different GMB account in Google Ads.
